Moby Lick

Jets Taylor

Moby Lick before gene-slammed--the original Jets Taylor

Jets Taylor was another of Dr. Paradigm's "failed" experiments.

History[]

Jets Taylor's a friend of the Bolton Brothers and Bends. Paradigm sought to create something strong enough to take on the Street Sharks after his experiments involving injecting DNA into sea creatures such as a lobster (Slobster), swordfish (Slash), and squid (Killamari) had yielded little success and as such he chose Jets Taylor, who had the perfect DNA structure for it to work. It worked with some great degree of success as he gene-slammed Jets with an orca (a.k.a. killer whale) and it formed for what had seemed to be a perfect creature. It easily matched the Sharks in combat, and if it hadn't been for the jealousness of the Seaviates, Moby Lick could very well have gone on to be one of Paradigm's most deadly allies. However, as he was locked in a building with the Sharks in some great degree of heat, he somehow managed to sweat the serum out of his body, and then he realized that he was fighting Clint Bolton, one of his oldest friends, backed off. But instead, he became a very powerful ally to the Sharks and he helped to combat Paradigm on a couple of occasions.

Control Serum[]

Moby Lick was the only one of Dr. Paradigm's Seaviates to overcome the mind control serum. The first two seaviates, Slash and Slobster, didn't receive any serum because it hasn't been perfected. But they remained loyal to Dr. Paradigm nonetheless. Rox also received a taste of the mind control serum. Thanks to something that Dr. Bolton did to the water, he was able to counteract it.

Importance[]

Moby was, for the most part, a background character but nevertheless became an important member of the team. Moby Lick can be seen as another powerhouse character much like Slammu. When he's under Paradigm's control, he could easily go toe-to-toe with all of the Sharks at the same time.

It's seen as somewhat of a sad loss then that at the end of Road Shark, that he takes off for a while.

Unlike Rox, who's rarely seen in any but his origin episode, Moby Lick's seen across multiple episodes like Eco Shark and Shark Hunt in Season Three. Although he's never seen as a member of the "Main Cast" (Ripster, Streex, Jab, Slammu, or to a lesser extent, Bends).

Abilities[]

Jets (Moby Lick) was gene-slammed with an orca and became a humanoid that shares the same skills as the Street Sharks; eating non-edible objects and swimming through solid ground.

Moby Lick has all the powers of an orca. He has immense strength, like Slammu, and possesses a blowhole he can use to fire out compressed blasts of water much like a fireman's hose. He also possesses incredibly sharp teeth like all of the other Sharks. He even has a long tongue that can be used to grab things. But when he sweat out all the mind control serum, he seldom uses his tongue to do such thing.

In the episode Road Shark, he also shows impressive driving skills by driving the Shark Buggy and the Sharkmobile. By the end of the episode, he also takes off on Ripster's new bike.

Toys[]

Moby Lick only has one appearance in the toyline, debuting in Series 3. Like his name suggest, you move a dial on the back of the figure to make the rubber tongue move. You could also fill his blow hole with water and fire it out. The figure came packaged with a small red cap.

Trivia[]

  • He took his name from the titular character of the white whale - Moby Dick. Whilst this was somewhat of an error as Moby Lick's in fact an orca, it matters a little to the premise of the show.
